Student Group Resources

Welcome to the SGA Governance Board. Our board is given the responsibility of maintaining an ethical Student Government. Typically the board will hear cases concerning a breach in the Constitution and Bylaws of the SGA. Any recognized student group may submit an appeal to the Governance Board by filling out the formal appeals form. All decisions made by the Governance Board are considered final.

The Board is comprised of 5-6 Justices led by 1 Chief Justice.

How do you bring a case to the Governance Board?

  1. A majority petition of the Legislature, the Executive Board and/or the standing Committees.
  2. A written petition of the President.
  3. A written petition of at least three members of a student group.
  4. A written petition of at least fifty (50) students of the student body.
  5. To have Appellate Jurisdiction over any legislation that deals with the SGA Constitution and By-Laws. In these cases, the Governance Board shall review the written appeals and any rebuttals submitted and determine whether or not sufficient grounds exist for the Board to render a judgment.

  6. As taken from the Constitution
